Mustafa Umar was born and raised in Southern California.  He holds a B.A. in Islamic Studies from the European Institute of Islamic Sciences as well as a B.S. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine.  He has travelled extensively and studied under scholars from around the world, particularly at Nadwatul Ulama in India and scholars from Al-Azhar and Darul Ulum in Egypt. He has served as Religious Director at the Islamic Foundation of Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah in Culver City, CA and is currently the Imam and Associate Director of the Islamic Society of Corona-Norco.
